NEWS AND NOTES
APRIL 22, 9:30 a.m. INTERNATIONAL/BIKE TO CHURCH SUNDAY! Come to church in a non-traditional form of
transportation. Meet ½ mile west of church at 9:30 a.m. for
a parade to the church, followed by snack and sharing about how you came to
church. Then will be worship followed by a meal provided by the Deacons. This year we will be taking donations for MCC supported
community based educational programs in the Ukraine, including teaching life
skills to children at an orphanage in the Ukraine.
WEDDING SHOWER for Elizabeth Mouser and Trae Watson on
Sunday, April 29. Plan for a carry in
meal at noon. No desserts needed. They are registered at Walmart, Target, Dillards, Amazon, and El Kan.

OUR GUEST SPEAKER for International Bike to Church Sunday
will be Jordan Penner, MCC donor relations associate
from Denver, CO. Jordan is originally
from Reedly, CA He has worked with MCC in the SALT
program in Guatemala, and as a three year service worker in Bolivia from
2013-2016. In Boliva
Jordan and his wife Jenny, served in multiple capacities including 1 ½ years as
the MCC country program representatives, leading a team of 25 and overseeing
projects in education, food and agriculture, water and sanitation, and
peacebuilding. Jordan has also worked as
a farm-hand in Kansas with his in-laws and packing fruit in California. He believes he has learned just enough about
farming to know he would be bad at it.
Jordan has a love for sports, fresh fruit, and baking bread and
chocolate desserts.
